If you’re looking for a medieval city to explore, or maybe to use as a backdrop for your own server, you’ll want to take a good, long look at the Lothaven map. The city, castle, and cathedral were actually built expressly for a French server called OxCraft, but it’s been years now and it only makes sense that such a popular and well-made map should be popping up on servers all over the world. It’s definitely a large map, big enough it would take a pair of friends several hours to run through and check out every corner of the place. But that size is actually a little misleading.
Since the city is on an island and surrounded by water on all sides, there’s really not much else to see besides Lothaven. There aren’t any dungeons or secrets to really speak of either, so once you’ve given the place a once over you’ll have seen everything there is to see. That doesn’t mean you couldn’t run a bridge across the ocean to connect the island to another land mass, or simply hop on a boat and leave the place once you’ve had enough. But nobody knows what else might be out there – or, in fact, if there even is anything else out there.
