Pocket Nether Link Mod

Don’t let the name of this mod fool you. Despite being called the Pocket Nether Link mod, this mod doesn’t allow for any other portals leading to the Nether. In fact, the only extra block it adds is that special linking block. While it won’t allow you to move to the Nether, what it will do is even better than that. See, going to the Nether is dangerous. And slow. And difficult considering all the materials necessary to craft a Nether portal. And downright stupid sometimes since you could end up getting exploded by ghasts and blazes as soon as you finish your transition from Overworld to Nether.

These are all problems with the Nether which many uses have complained about in the past. They aren’t any better today, but now we have the Pocket Nether Link mod which takes a lot of the hassle out of Minecraft. Once you’ve built your Nether Link block you can combine it with a number of “normal” blocks and items to get their Nether variants. Want blaze rods but don’t feel like hunting down a Nether fortress? Simply combine some iron, coal, netherwort and glowstone dust with the Link block and you’ll have it. The Netherwort itself can be crafted using the Link block, a carrot, obsidian and seeds.

Thanks to the Pocket Nether Link mod you don’t actually need to go to the Nether for anything. If you’re willing to pay a premium price for the recipes, you can simply craft anything you would normally find in the Nether using materials which are readily available in Minecraft’s Overworld. Because this mod doesn’t break the game like mods which allow you to see through walls or craft massively overpowered weapons and armor, you might be able to convince the host of your favorite server to enable it server side. If not, you can always enjoy this mod while playing alone.

How to install Pocket Nether Link Mod?

1. Download the mod.
2. When you haven’t installed Minecraft Forge API yet, download and install it.
3. Move the downloaded .jar into the mods folder.
4. Have fun!
