Resource packs are pretty useful for changing the way Minecraft looks. They’re nice enough on their own, but when you get a resource pack like Quiet One which actually features two different packs – a light and dark version – you get that extra little bit of versatility which other resource packs just don’t add. The pack features both Light and Dark variants, with the Light version being the original colormap and the Dark version being the secondary version made to complement the first. This was kind of necessary since the Light pack made some colors look strangely orange, according to the author.
That’s not to say the Dark version is absolutely superior to the Light version. But this is a matter which comes down to personal preference and nothing to really discuss here. The Quiet One resource pack changes all the standard painting images into new pieces of art, and that’s always a nice touch. It also manages to add more texture to many items and blocks while simultaneously making them look simpler. It’s amazing really, hard to explain, but you’ll understand as soon as you try it for yourself. The grassy dirt, for instance, looks amazing even if the texture is flat.
The Quiet One resource pack does a great job of changing all the standard or vanilla Minecraft textures and making them look different from normal. As far as resource packs go, you can’t really ask for more than this. Because they’re really a matter of preference, it’s kind of hard to say any single one is really good or bad. In the case of Quiet One though, you get two different options from the same pack, so you’re pretty much guaranteed to find one you like better than the other.
