Retribution is an immersive Minecraft map that you might be a slight bit familiar with if you’ve played the Lost Treasure map that we talked about a while back. The map’s a co-creation of Lost Treasure’s creator as well as another person and it’s actually set a hundred years before the events of Lost Treasure took place. This is a map that you’ll want to try out if you appreciate top notch adventure maps or if you were intrigued by the story of Lost Treasure and want to find out more fascinating details about the events that took place in that particular universe.
In the Retribution map, the minions of the evil entity known as Shub are on a quest to release their master from prison. Shub has been held captive for many years and, if released, there will be many years of chaos and destruction so his minions must be stopped at all cost. You, playing as one of the brave heroes capable of pulling off the daring feat, are assigned the task of stopping Shub’s minions before they succeed and release their master. Annihilating minions might seem like an easy task at first but there’s a lot more to them than you’d initially think because Shub has blessed the minions with his evil powers and they’ve become supercharged variants of themselves.
The gameplay of Retribution is filled with various parkour and puzzle sequences as well as the standard stuff that you’d find in adventure maps. The map comes with its own resource pack and custom music so the experience is quite immersive, on top of all this, it even allows layers to play alongside a friend if they want to and this leads to a much more enjoyable and engaging experience. All said and done, Retribution is a solid map that doesn’t cease to impress.
