If you’ve ever tried any skyblock or island survival maps before, then you probably won’t think much of the Square Survival map at first. From a glance, it looks like any other incredibly small, limited map. There is a small patch of grass and dirt that goes about four blocks deep, a tree, a shelter, and a chest with only the most basic of supplies. Like those other constrained survival maps, it is also possible to build up a great deal of wealth on Square Survival. The way you go about doing it is completely different though, and that’s what makes this map fresh and fun.
With a built in shop system and quests you can undertake to earn rare rewards, you’ll find yourself actually motivated to explore. And exploring is a thing too – you’ll find lots of little skyblocks to investigate and even a handful of small villages if you amass enough blocks to travel through the sky. You even get access to items and goods you would normally never see on Skyblock or some island survival maps, like Redstone which can be used to make all kinds of automatic machinery for creating infinite sources of building blocks among other things. The Square Survival map is worth trying.
