As the name suggests, The Challenge is a parkour map that’s been designed solely for players who think that the usual parkour maps are a bit too easy and are therefore looking for a challenging map that will strain their skills through the absolute limit. The has multitudes of twists and turns that will constantly force players to adapt their playstyle according to how the map progresses but fortunately, it does have a checkpoint system which ensures that the gameplay remains fair for anyone who plays the map since repeating it from the start after every fall would be rather absurd.
At its core, The Challenge map is actually a pretty simple map since it utilizes traditional parkour sequences for most of its level design. There are also lots of slime parkour moments, but these are few and far in between so most of the time you’ll have to run through regular parkour sections. The primary challenge of this map comes from the fact that various different special types of blocks have been scattered throughout it, and each of these blocks will trigger a unique effect whenever they make contact with a player. You will have to work your way around these blocks or figure out a way to use them to your advantage if you wish to succeed in this map.
To make things convenient for players, The Challenge map has an automatic teleportation system that kicks in whenever a player falls. Instead of having to climb up a ladder to get back to the parkour platform, you’ll automatically be teleported to your last checkpoint and this feature saves a lot of time. The Challenge has been designed to function with Minecraft version 1.9.4 so if you use it with older versions of the game, then you’re bound to run into compatibility issues.
