At a glance, The Golden Coaster looks like any other Minecraft map featuring a roller coaster. There are lots of ups and downs, a few decent spins and a couple of epic drops, but as usual the properties of mine carts kind of limit the functionality of the coaster. There are no loops, though you’ll find a few sections where dead drops fall back onto track to continue along the coaster’s path, and those can be downright terrifying the first few times you’re rolling through The Golden Coaster. Made from iron, gold and diamond blocks, this thing is built sturdy and meant to last.
There are some other unique features about The Golden Coaster too. There is an underwater segment encased in glass which lets you see how the squids live, and there’s even a section with noteblocks on both sides of the track which get activated as you ride through, thereby playing a song. Few other Minecraft coasters can boast this. There is also some clever use of detector rail to work secret doors and passages, which make the coaster seem more interactive thanks to the way they operate. Overall this map is pretty fun, but it does get boring quickly like any other roller coaster.
