The Mine is a terrifying little corner of Minecraft created by someone who might just be a little sick in the head. It’s a scary map all right, more frightening than a lot of other maps which claim to have a horror theme to them. Thankfully the whole map is relatively short, and it should only take an hour or so for you to see this particular story through from start to finish. The story is simple too – finding your usual mining operation inaccessible, you try a different tunnel and end up digging into an abandoned mineshaft loaded with loot… and other things.
This map comes with its own special resource pack attached, so you don’t need to go track down any packs to use for it. You can of course disable that pack if you want to play using vanilla Minecraft textures. The Mine features a lot of fast-paced action, running, and fighting, all in spite of the fact it takes place underground and in areas where movement is generally limited. The map is meant to be played alone too, so don’t bring along any of your friends to make things easier on you. This is one mining trip you’ll have to make alone.
