I’m sure we’ll all agree that, even though the amount of available Minecraft adventure maps is staggering, there just aren’t enough good quality pirate themed maps for players to try out. The pirate based setting is one that many games have utilized over the years to great success and, due to this, it’s rather surprising that we don’t see it all that often in Minecraft maps. Fortunately, though, if you’ve been searching for a good pirate themed adventure map for a while, your search is about to end with Treasures of the Dead because it’s a really high-quality map that certainly does its setting justice.
In Treasures of the Dead, you play the role of an ambitious pirate who, alongside his friends, enters a creepy island in order to acquire all the rare treasures that it holds. However, as you actually enter this island, you realize that there’s an ominous vibe about it and there are actually a lot more creepy things going on in the island than one would think. Now, you’re stuck on this island and your goal is to get the treasure and get out as quickly as you can before the dark forces of the island end up catching up to you.
The gameplay of Treasures of the Dead is quite intense because the map is loaded with tons upon tons of riddles, traps, and tests for players to overcome. The map also has a variety of lively NPCs that you’ll get to interact with and these NPCs definitely add more depth to the experience. The map is single player only which is definitely unfortunate because it’d be great fun to play alongside friends. Treasures of the Dead lasts for around 20 minutes but of course, it goes without saying that this time can fluctuate depending on how skilled you are at Minecraft.
