The Utility Mobs is a very useful mod that adds a whole bunch of extremely useful mobs to the game that will aid you in various ways. Normally, in-game mobs aren’t things that are known for their utility. Most of the standard mobs are designed solely for the purpose of wreaking havoc on anyone who passes by them, you included. However, the Utility Mobs mod adds multitudes of clever and powerful mobs that can definitely make life much easier for you by dealing with enemy mobs so that you don’t have to.
The primary focus of this mod is the golem mod. The golems of the Utility Mobs mod are much like vanilla snow golems in terms of how they behave but the main difference is of course that these are made out of stone which is why they’re much stronger than their vanilla counterparts. There’s also a Bound Soul golem that you can customize according to your preferences by equipping it with various different kinds of weapons and equipment. The Bound Soul golems will immediately attack any enemies that come within their line of sight. Alongside the golems, the Utility Mobs mod also adds some pretty crazy turrets into the mix. Turrets also attack enemies as soon as they enter line of sight but the highlight of these is that they can rotate 360 degrees which means that it’s pretty tough to avoid their shots. There are also some special turrets like the ones constructed with redstone that can fire arrows of flame.
Lastly, perhaps the most peculiar feature of the Utility Mobs mod is that it allows you to craft ‘pet’ blocks. These blocks can be crafted with a simple block and a skeleton skull and once they’ve been crafted they’ll follow you around much like a normal pet would.
