Warcraft III was probably one of the most, if not the most, iconic RTS games of its time and, even today, it’s regarded as one of the most popular strategy games to ever surface and, due to all this, it doesn’t really come as a surprise that it’s gotten its very own resource pack. The Warcraft III resource pack does an exceptional job of capturing the environment of this iconic RTS and replicating it within the world of Minecraft in order to give players the sense of nostalgia once again. If you’re a fan of the Warcraft series, then this is a pack that you do not want to miss out on.
The Warcraft III resource pack features the same gritty visuals that we’ve all come to love from the Warcraft games. The amount of detail in the textures is quite spectacular, and they seem to mostly be free of noise, so they look quite nice. Some of the textures do have bits of noise in-between them, though, but this isn’t that big of a deal because the noise actually manages to help the textures synergize with the gritty and fantasy oriented art style. As for the specifics, the pack features special items from the Warcraft universe, top notch artwork, various kinds of sound effects and music and, on top of all this, redesigned NPCs as well.
The Warcraft III resource pack has been built at a resolution of 64×64 which is a few steps higher than the usual x16 so you might notice a performance drop if you utilize this pack on a PC with low-end hardware. The pack’s currently a work in progress, so a lot of the textures are missing, but they’ll probably be added in eventually.
