Some Minecraft mods do a lot to change the game by only adding a few important new blocks. The Advanced Dispensers mod is one of these, since it really improves the way dispensers work and only adds three new blocks to the game – the Placer, an automatic crafting bench and the Breaker. Each of these has a unique function which will be explained later, but before that, it’s important to stress how good this mod is for minimalists. You don’t get a horde of overpowered weapons and armor here; just a few utility blocks that make life in Minecraft a little easier.
That line about the three blocks isn’t exactly accurate. The most recent version of the Advanced Dispensers mod actually has four blocks. The last one, the User, is a block which emulates the player right-clicking. It is integral to making the mod function. The placer adds items to furnaces and places blocks as directed. The automatic bench is easy enough to understand; it will keep crafting if you keep feeding it materials. Breakers perform mining operations for you, essentially. New blocks are also planned for future updates, but it’s anyone’s guess when those will come along.
So what about this mod really helps make dispensers more advanced? The fact you can fill them and get them to operate without interacting with them at all is pretty advanced. Combining Advanced Dispensers with other mods can allow you to create engines which infinitely produce iron ingots or other valuable resources too, with all the work being automated and dispensers shooting out finished products into chests with attached hoppers. There is some interaction after all then, but only enough to get the machine set up in the first place.
