The Inverse Ore Generator mod is definitely one of the stranger Minecraft mods you will find. This mod basically allows for all types of ores, from coal to emeralds and everything in between, to spawn above surface level and even in the sky. It works for nether quartz as well, making blocks pop up near the roof of the Nether. Like normal ore which gets better the deeper you go into your Minecraft world, ores generated by this mod get better as the player climbs to greater heights. This makes it excellent for farming diamonds and emeralds, as you can see these from the ground without doing any digging.

Because the Inverse Ore Generator mod essentially doubles ore spawns for a Minecraft world, it can cause some serious lag for players who don’t have an adequate amount of memory in their computers. If you’re already struggling to play Minecraft with a decent frame rate then stay very far away from this mod – it will crash your game and maybe cause some other damage. Besides the normal ore spawns you also get a few special spawns, including glowstone which appears in bodies of water and diamonds which appear under pools of lava.

Because the Inverse Ore Generator mod makes finding diamonds and emeralds so easy, many players will consider it cheating to even use the mod.
