Are you ever playing Minecraft when you stop and think to yourself that the game just doesn’t look cute enough? You’d be kind of right – there’s nothing too cute about any of the enemies, and the villagers are pretty ugly, and sometimes it’s hard to tell just what kind of animal you’re looking at. The Kawaii World resource pack has a simple goal: it aims to make Minecraft a cuter game. You’ll notice this right from the first game menu, where bold, pink lettering and coloring glare back at you. That’s just the start of all the kawaii in this pack though.
In fact, you’ll notice there’s a lot of pink, splashed pretty much everywhere. Trees, paintings, crafting benches and lots of other very common (and very rare) blocks and items come washed out in shades of pink. But not everything is like that. The Kawaii World resource pack changes beds to make them look like people are already sleeping in them with custom blankets. Furnaces turn into the head of cookie monster, a popular Sesame Street character who loves to eat. Seeing him light up when you feed him food and fuel is actually kind of funny the first few times.
If you want a house that’s full of Kirby and Hello Kitty references then you’ll probably like the Kawaii World resource pack. It’s loaded with ultra-bright cutesy pastels on just about every texture there is in Minecraft. Even the ore blocks look like gems and bits of metal stuck in a thick, pink matrix that must be broken to get at the goods. At least the different ore and metal blocks look like they’re supposed to in this pack.
