If you crave a Minecraft world which looks like something out of the future, you might want to take a look at the OpusPack resource pack. Featuring lots of bright white colors, smooth, mechanical textures and flat, dark liquids, it almost looks like something out of a sci fi book from back in the 1950s. It’s not just the blocks and environment which get a facelift either; many textures for items and icons are also way different from their normal vanilla appearance in this pack. OpusPack is actually the second resource pack by author ItsioZ, so the creator knows what they’re doing this time around.
This is a good thing; if you’ve ever seen DarkPvPLight before, you could compare it to the current work from ItsioZ and see for yourself that the textures simply look better here than in his first resource pack. OpusPack features a brand new, custom GUI, along with other specific textures which help to make this pack one of the first of its kind. Being designed for Minecraft 1.8.1, it will work with more recent versions of the game, at least up until 1.9, but don’t expect to use OpusPack with any older Minecraft clients and have a good experience doing so. It just won’t work.
As of now, the OpusPack resource pack isn’t actually finished. More updates are planned for the future, so it would be unfair to judge this pack too harshly. The textures and coloring which have already been done do look pretty good though, so it’s probably safe to assume other textures which get updated later will look about the same in order to stick with the theme of the pack. Or it could change entirely over the next few months. Who knows?
