Ragdoll Corpses Mod for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

Minecraft’s Ragdoll Corpses mod is fairly simple to understand if you’ve ever played a game where the dead bodies go down like ragdolls. Those physics are pretty standard in first person shooters and a couple other types of games today, so the odds are good you’ve probably already seen ragdolls in action at least once in the past. If you haven’t, just imagine some raggedy Ann or Andy doll being dropped on the floor and just flopping around until it comes to a rest. That’s pretty much what you can expect from this mod, pretty much all you can expect, so if you’re looking for something else just keep moving.

As it stands, when players, monsters or non-hostile NPCs die in Minecraft, they flash red a couple of times and then just disappear into a puff of smoke. Sure, it’s iconic, it’s Minecraft, but it’s also so simple and boring that someone got the idea to create this Ragdoll Corpses mod. With the mod installed, everything becomes a ragdoll, which could actually be enough for some players to get back into PvP servers again. Some of the animations are actually kind of funny, especially when a body ends up bent at some awkward, impossible angle.

While there are some other features planned for the future of Ragdoll Corpses, right now all the mod does is make it so people, animals and monsters fall down and leave a body behind when they die, rather than just flashing and disappearing. It’s certainly more realistic, which has always been one of the good points about ragdoll physics. It’s very much what a person would look like if they were running along, gun in hand, and suddenly just died. If you’re looking to add a layer of realism to your Minecraft gameplay, this mod is a good way to do it.
