SmartCursor Mod for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

The cursor in a game is like the one point where your hand and the game itself meet. It should respond to your motions and provide you with any information you might need on a subject or topic when you scroll over said subject or topic. As it is, the cursor in Minecraft works, but it doesn’t really pour on the information. The SmartCursor mod fixes that a lot like the WAWLA mod did before it, except this one works with 1.7.2 and later versions of the game without any issues. You’ll be surprised once you hear all of the things this mod actually does for you.

For starters, you get much more information when scrolling over hostile mobs. Besides the life total which you could get from a number of other mods, this one tells you what the target is wearing, whether the equipped weapon or armor pieces are enchanted, the agro status of the target, whether the target is living or undead, and more. That’s just for mobs too. There are lots of other entities in Minecraft, from the trees to the fish in the seas, and the SmartCursor mod makes interacting with most of these things much easier thanks to the information it provides for the player.

Depending on the tools you have in hand, the SmartCursor mod will also let you know if you can harvest whatever block you’re looking at. For instance, if you’re barehanded and looking at a tree, it will tell you that you can harvest the block. It doesn’t say a thing if you have the right tool for the job but it isn’t equipped, like if you’re digging in dirt and suddenly find stone. But any Minecraft player worth their salt knows how to switch tools while gathering resources or doing jobs. If you simply want more information from the world around you, consider picking up SmartCursor.
