The SpaceCore mod is one of those master mods needed by a series of other mods for them to function. All of these are mods authored by spacechase0, and each of them was designed to work using key files from the SpaceCore mod, so if you’re going to use any of them then you’ll definitely need this. The full list of mobs includes Useful Pets, Component Equipment, Biome Wand, Survival Wings and the Text Formatting mod, for five different mods total. It might just be because the same person made all of them, but many of these mods look good and interact well when used alongside each other.
With that said, if you aren’t planning on using any of the mods which require SpaceCore, then there is no point to picking up this mod. It doesn’t do anything besides act as a kind of focal point for files needed by all the other mods by this same author. It’s not going to do anything if you install it alone, though that means it also shouldn’t interact poorly with any other mods you might have installed already. It’s highly useful for a few other mods, but outside of that, you’re not going to get anything else from SpaceCore.
The SpaceCore mod isn’t the only mod of its kind either. Many authors make a master kind of mod like this that contains files all of their other mods need to function. In fact, if you mod pretty extensively, you may have seen other master mods just like this one before. In that case you know exactly what you’re dealing with here – you probably could have just skipped the whole review. For everybody else, feel free to search around for popular modders with a lot of different mods to their credit. You’re pretty much guaranteed to run into other master mods like SpaceCore.
