Sometimes, you just want to look at something from a long distance away, rather than traveling over land, sea and mountains to get up close enough to see it properly. In the real world, we invented binoculars to accomplish this, but in Minecraft, it took the Zoom Mod to make it happen. Sure, you can get this same zooming effect by installing Optifine, but this mod doesn’t introduce anything new to the game and it is so easily installed that you could really go either way. All you need to do with this is press a single button to zoom in on whatever you’re looking at too – it’s much simpler.
The applications for this are pretty obvious. You can zoom and identify what an ore is from a distance, allowing you to pass by coal when searching for iron, or both of these when searching for gold, or all of these when searching for diamonds. Admittedly, Zoom Mod is much more useful when you have other mods going, when there’s lots of new stuff to see, not just stuff you’ve already seen dozens or hundreds of times before. Eventually you learn to ID most sights from a distance, but this mod is still a useful one for newer players and those modding heavily.

I have put this mod into my mods folder and started MC under the forge profile. The mod does not appear in the list of available mods. Is there something I am missing?
They should be put in the folder “mods” without being opened.
This happened to me also… IDK why
