Better Undergrounds is a Minecraft resource pack that makes travelling across the world of Minecraft and simply exploring it feel like a significantly more immersive activity than usual. As it stands right now, the textures of the terrain in vanilla Minecraft could definitely use a fair bit of work and Better Undergrounds is a resource pack that’s been designed for this very purpose. If you aren’t content with the way terrain looks in Minecraft then this resource pack should be right up your alley. Before we go into any further details, though, we want to highlight that most other visual elements such as the item textures and animations will mostly remain as they are because Better Undergrounds isn’t really designed to alter those in any way.
As the name suggests, the primary focus of the Better Undergrounds resource pack is to make the various underground locations of Minecraft look more appealing. If you’ve had any bit of experience with Minecraft then you’re probably familiar with mining underground and know for a fact that the visuals in these areas are uninspired at best. Fortunately, Better Undergrounds revamps most of the textures and makes them look smoother, livelier and more appealing overall. Alongside this, the pack also overhauls the terrain of the usual overworld and makes it feel a lot more welcoming. Another minor change that you’ll notice in this pack is that the creepers actually change color once you’ve gotten under Y level 60.
The textures of Better Undergrounds have the standard 16×16 resolution and this, along with the fact that it only alters the textures of the game’s terrain, means that you’ll be able to utilize this pack without any frame-rate issues.
