Bow Evolution Mod for Minecraft 1.8

The Bow Evolution Mod isn’t just about making the classic Minecraft bow better, though it does do that. This mod also adds a number of completely new bows and ranged weaponry to the game, like the Redstone bow or the drill bow. These do unique things which the classic bow just can’t. The Redstone bow, for instance, repeatedly fires arrows like a kind of machine gun bow. The drill bow, even if it is a bit buggy at this stage in development, can “drill” through blocks it hits and break them as if the player had taken a shovel or pickaxe to said block.

Turning bows into versatile tools which are good for more than just fighting is pretty fantastic for bow fans. But bows aren’t the only things modified by the Bow Evolution Mod. There is even an Arrow Sword which works like a standard sword, except it also fires arrows upon left clicking, sort of like how Link’s sword in the Legend of Zelda series can fire energy beams when Link is at full health. You don’t need to be at full health to take advantage of the Arrow Sword though. The new bows and sword in this mod are useful indeed.

Mod Showcase:

The most important thing about the mod and its content though is the fact that none of it is overpowered or broken. The bows are fair, even if they’re superpowered, since any other player could use them in the same way as you. Also, with new bows in the works for future versions of the Bow Evolution Mod, there is more content just around the corner, figuratively speaking. If you want a bow mod which doesn’t totally break ranged combat in Minecraft, this could be the perfect mod for you. It’s still pretty close to vanilla combat, so that’s cool.
