Doge Mod for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

If you’ve never heard of the Internet sensation Doge, then stop reading right now. Go and look it up, have yourself a laugh or two at the expensive of the silly-looking Shibe dog, then come back here. Everything good? Great. The Doge mod for Minecraft brings the hilarious Doge character to Minecraft. Not only does it add the Doge mob, which is just like a wolf but with 10 times as much health, but it adds a number of new items, tools, pieces of armor and more – with more updates planned for the future. It even works with versions of Minecraft up to 1.8, but not 1.8.3 just yet.

Like other mods which add a lot of content to Minecraft, the Doge mod will get complaints from some people. The fact that Doge swords and armor are twice as strong as diamond equivalents kind of overshadows the fact they only have half the durability. If you can beat other players to death before you die, then you’ve come out ahead, right? With that said, you might want to avoid using this mod on servers which will focus on PVP, as many will consider the gear broken. Everything else about it is great though.

Perhaps the best part of the Doge mod is the Dogecoin and Launcher combo. The Dogecoin can turn any mob you find into a Shibe, the same kind of dog as Doge. All you need to do is walk up and right click something while holding it. However, that’s kind of dangerous when the mob is hostile and looking to do much worse than just click you. The Doge Launcher allows you to fire those coins over a distance, where they will activate upon hitting a mob or just fizzle out and be wasted if you shoot them at a wall or other construction blocks.
