The Haggis Mod adds a few unique items to Minecraft, all of which are used to craft the dish called haggis, as you could probably tell from the mod title. Using the added sheep stomach along with some wheat and raw or cooked mutton dropped by sheep, you can craft haggis. Regardless of whether you use cooked or raw meat in the crafting process, the haggis product will always be raw, so keep that in mind. Once it’s crafted, you need to cook it for maximum effect, though you can still eat it raw to restore two hunger points with a good chance of poisoning yourself for 30 seconds, like when eating rotten flesh.
Cooked haggis won’t make you sick and it restores four hunger points instead of two, so it’s clearly superior to the raw stuff. But the Haggis Mod doesn’t just stop there. If you feel like covering your haggis in golden nuggets, you can get the golden haggis, which fully restores your hunger meter and gives you eight seconds of minor health regeneration, just like when eating a standard golden apple. It’s a nice enough mod, but you have to ask yourself if it’s really worth installing in the first place. Most players already have enough food items to just skip this one.
