Ion Items is an awesome mod that implements a completely new item category into Minecraft. As the name suggests, the mod adds Ion based items into the game and these are extremely useful and will definitely prove to be quite handy as you use the mod. It’s important to keep in mind that this probably isn’t the mod to go for if you’re searching for a mod that can add new functionality to Minecraft’s gameplay but, if you’re looking for a whole new category for items to try out then, the Ion Items mod will no doubt deliver.
Before going into any further details regarding the items of the Ion Items mod, it’s important to mention that they’re a tad bit difficult to acquire. You’ll have to make a considerable amount of effort to get your hands on an Ion item but, in all honesty, these items are more than worth the effort because of their high stats and various other features. You can simply think of Ion items as enhanced versions of diamond items, and this is definitely saying something because diamond items are quite potent themselves. For example, the Ion sword does 10 damage on each hit whereas the diamond sword does 7.
The tools of the Ion Items are definitely its big highlights because they speed things up by a tremendous amount. The Ion Pickaxe can mine stone instantly, and the Ion Shovel has the same speed as a diamond shovel but has a lot more durability, so it lasts way longer. As of right now, the variety of items in the Ion Items isn’t really that big, but the creator has plans to implement tons of new stuff into it later on like an Ion boat, Ion armor, and even a full-fledged Ion bow.
