Lots of Food Mod for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

With so many different ways to get fed in Minecraft, it seems kind of silly that someone would put real time and effort into creating a mod which gives players many more items to eat. However, the Lots of Food mod does just that, offering players a host of new food items to munch on and enjoy. While there are numerous new ways to get full, only some of them have any secondary effects on the player. For instance, peppers will burn the player who eats them unless they do so in water or under rain, and candy will give the player a random potion effect for five seconds upon consumption.

Chocolate and caramel are new items, but everyone knows sugar, which is a major ingredient in making many of the new foods. Each of these three items can be crafted into blocks with the Lots of Food mod, which makes keeping massive quantities of all three much more efficient. This is done by filling a crafting table window with chocolate, caramel or sugar and is very similar to the process used to create iron, gold and diamond blocks. These food blocks can also be used to craft fences and stairs of various types, though players cannot retrieve their food items once this is done.

Lots of Food Mod introduces many new food items, but not all of them are so fancy or fantastic. Players can cook hard-boiled eggs and make pumpkin soup with this mod, but in all fairness, these foods should have been available in standard Minecraft anyhow. There are various soups which can be made with vegetables, meats, fish and the new peppers and other foods, which greatly increases the usefulness of wooden bowls. Players who are looking to exercise their culinary talents in Minecraft will surely want to download and install Lots of Food.

Sorry to say so, but the original link for the 1.7.10 version doesn’t work any more, and the mirror link for 1.7.10 gives you a download for 1.9 – or so it says. Plus, the version 1.9 definitely doesn’t work on 1.7.10. (At least it doesn’t crash your game, though.)
