Medieval Darkness is a top notch resource pack that delivers a slightly darker version of the medieval art style that we’ve seen in so many packs nowadays. The base of the Medieval Darkness resource pack is the Painterly Pack that was made by Rhodox, and this is definitely an excellent base to start off with because of high quality and polished it is. There are a lot of things that set Medieval Darkness apart from traditional medieval packs so you don’t need to worry about this pack being visually similar to other resource packs that you might have used before.
The defining characteristic of the Medieval Darkness pack is how clear it is. Every single texture carries a solid amount of detail and, alongside this detail, they all look incredibly clean as well because they have absolutely zero noise in them. As the name suggests, the color palette of Medieval Darkness is a significantly darker version of the usual medieval color palette, and this is a great change as it helps set the visuals of this pack apart from the rest. However, it goes without saying that no resource pack is without its fair share of flaws and this is the case with Medieval Darkness as well. One minor issue that this pack has is the fact that some of the textures look a bit too dark and they can become rather difficult to distinguish from one another, especially during night time.
The Medieval Darkness resource pack shares the native resolution of Minecraft which is, of course, 16×16. Thanks to the native resolution, you’ll never need to worry about the game lagging whenever you utilize this pack.
