Many Minecraft players complain that the combat in the game is just too simplistic. There are swords and bows and that’s about it, really. Players can hit each other and block with their blades to reduce damage, but that’s about as deep as the combat system goes. With the Mine & Blade mod pack, players can get a host of different weapons and even a shield for effectively stopping attacks in a 120 degree arc. Not only are there additional weapons and armor, but players may also dual-wield smaller weapons, allowing them to drastically increase their damage output instantly.
Shields will block all incoming damage from any source, but they have durability like tools, weapons and armor, meaning they will break after enough punishment. They can only be used for a short amount of time before the player can’t use them again. This cooldown timer is in place to stop players from abusing shields. New weapons include daggers, maces, waraxes and even spears, which allow players to hit one another from an increased range. Each of these weapons has their own distinct advantages (and disadvantages); for example, daggers attack quickly but don’t do much damage.
Mine and Blade Battlegear 2 Mod adds quite a bit of variety to the Minecraft combat scene, which is pretty tired and old on its own. New weapons are under development and will be released with later versions of the mod, which is still getting regular updates from its creator. Each of these new items comes with a new recipe for its creation, so players will want to check out the mod website and learn how to craft all the new additions to get the most out of Mine & Blade. Be aware that mods like these, which significantly change Minecraft, are often incompatible with many other mods.
