SnowSong is an insanely unique resource pack that’s simply nothing like all the other run-of-the-mill resource packs that keep surfacing on a daily basis. As it currently stands, almost all modern day Minecraft resource packs are designed for the sole purpose of improving the visuals of the game or changing them in some way. While most of the packs are actually quite solid, it’s rather unfortunate to see that there aren’t many packs out there that focus on the sound in Minecraft. Fortunately, though, SnowSong changes this. It’s a top-tier sound pack that revamps almost all the sounds in Minecraft and makes them significantly better.
The SnowSong resource pack actually replaces every single sound effect and piece of music in Minecraft all the way up to version 1.10.2 of the game. Various new sound effects have been added since version 1.10.2 of the game but most of these are actually quite nice and don’t really require changes, and this is probably why they’ve been left as they are. As for the sound itself, almost every single piece of music and sound effect featured in this pack is extremely high quality and, when playing the game, you’ll feel a lot more immersed thanks to the more realistic sounds.
The SnowSong mod also makes a variety of creative changes to how sound functions in the game. For example, there’s a special no-hurt version of the pack that completely disables death cries from passive entities like pigs, ducks, horses and cows and this is great because hearing the cries of these passive beings generally isn’t a fun thing to do in Minecraft. The SnowSong doesn’t change the visuals in any way, so you probably won’t experience any performance drops while using it.
