The different biomes which can be found throughout Minecraft each have unique features. Some of them, like jungles, even have items you can’t find anywhere else (cocoa beans in this case). Others, like swamps, feature enemies you won’t find elsewhere – which means enemy drops you won’t find elsewhere too. Trying to survive for long in a single biome can be tough, but that’s part of the appeal for some players. Sopwith’s AllSnow Mod is perfect for those who want to try living in a cold, harsh and unfriendly environment in their next new Minecraft world. That new part is important.
Because of the way Sopwith’s AllSnow Mod interacts with Minecraft, it causes the world generation process to simply discard all logarithms for other biomes and just dump snow on everything. It can also totally destroy any world which has already generated, like a world where you’ve already built a home, a farm and a spawner, for instance. Either back up your existing worlds before loading them with this mod, or just leave them alone and spawn only new worlds. This mod is a far cry from Sopwith’s very first mod, which actually focused on eliminating snow from Minecraft altogether.
Basically, Sopwith’s AllSnow Mod just modifies a few parameters for the different biomes found in Minecraft. Each of them have their precipitation changed from rain to snow (except for ocean biomes) and each has its ambient temperature reduced so snow and ice which form on the ground don’t ever melt. Well, they don’t melt naturally anyhow – you can always use a torch or another light source to clear up some icy earth, though. This mod is perfect for making Christmas-themed maps and other winter wonderlands, so it does have some utility. Sopwith’s AllSnow Mod covers your entire Minecraft world in snow and ice.
