The 8 Islands is a phenomenal adventure map that comes from Gahlifrex, the same person behind The 8 Portals and Gahlifrex’s Void. Both prior maps from Gahlifrex have received a lot of critical acclaim because they gave their players an immersive and exhilarating experience and it seems like this particular map continues the same trend. The 8 Islands promises to give anyone who plays it an engrossing experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for an engaging puzzle map that has an intriguing setting and spectacular gameplay, this map should be right up your alley.
Almost all maps have their fair share of flaws, and that’s the case with The 8 Islands as well. One thing that we don’t really like about this map is the fact it lacks any proper plot, and this is rather unfortunate because the primary highlight of most adventure maps is a well thought out story. However, even though the map lacks a full-fledged plot, it’s still a delight to play because it has a very exciting setting and the gameplay is very well constructed. As the name suggests, the map has eight different islands and the objective is to go through all of them while surviving all the challenges that they have to throw at you. The first few levels might be easy to get through but, as you progress through the map, the difficulty will ramp up significantly, and you’ll have a pretty hard time trying to make it to the end.
The great thing about The 8 Islands is the fact that it supports multiplayer with up to four players and this not only makes things a lot less difficult but, at the same time, it also makes the gameplay a whole lot more enjoyable because Minecraft is naturally more fun when you have friends playing with you.
