Yarn is a creative mod that just came out back in July of this year and, in all honesty, we’re rather surprised that something like this mod took so long to release because the concept is actually something that blends in perfectly with Minecraft’s gameplay and makes it significantly better for a lot of players. The mod basically allows players to craft things that are otherwise solely available through monster drops and the ability to craft these things brings an insane level of convenience to the game since players no longer have to go out in the dangerous game world just to get their hands on some basic resources.
The Yarn mod, as the name suggests, implements yarn into the game and this yarn can be utilized to make items that have previously only been attainable through monster drops. Through the yarn, you’ll be able to craft string, rotten flesh, gunpowder, slimeball, spider eye, saddle and even a name tag if you want to. After a while with this mod, it’ll even let you craft the ender pearl, blaze rod, and ghast tear and the ability to craft these particular items without having to visit the Nether is something that players are going to absolutely love, especially if they like playing Minecraft on the peaceful mode.
One of the best things about mods like Yarn is the fact that, since they only implement items and don’t really alter the game’s functionality in any major way, they tend to be completely free of bugs and this is the case here as well. While using the Yarn mod, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll ever run into any technical issues or performance drops even if you play Minecraft on a system with relatively outdated hardware. Overall, Yarn is an extremely useful mod that’s going to allow you to get your hands on a lot of items without having to kill for them.
