The Aperture: Underground is one of those packs that you’ll be able to enjoy no matter what kind of packs you prefer due to how great it is. It’s a pack that just came out less than a week ago and has already been making waves in the community. You’ll recognize a lot of the pack’s visuals and textures if you’ve played Portal 2 before because the main inspiration for this pack is actually the underground facility that’s present in portal 2. Overall, whether you’re a portal 2 fan or not, you’ll definitely enjoy the visuals that this texture pack has to offer.
As soon as you apply the Aperture: Underground Pack to your Minecraft client you’ll notice that the colors of the textures are rather dark as compared to the vanilla Minecraft textures and this has probably to make the colors feel in-line with those of the portal games. Alongside the dark colors, you’ll also see a lot of textures that seem to have been copied directly from the game itself. Also, there colors orange and blue are present in abundance, and this is because the portals that you created in the portal games were of the same color.
The Aperture: Underground texture pack currently isn’t at full completion, so there are bound to be updates for it in the near future. The creator has announced plans to implement special office and gel textures and maybe even sound at some later point in time. There was also recently a poll about in which players voted for darker colored textured so that’s probably something that’ll be implemented soon as well.
