Blocklings Mod for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

The Blocklings mod is just what every lonely Minecraft player on solo worlds has been waiting for – a mod which introduces a number of potential new allies who grow with the player, becoming stronger as more time passes. This is far beyond what you’ve come to expect from simple wolves, even though there’s always going to be a place for those loyal dogs in Minecraft. Basically, this mod adds small, cubic critters which can be tamed by the player and then pressed into service to help in combat against hostile mobs. You might miss them at first, since they look like blocks you could pick up in their infant stages.

The critters only spawn in forest and plains biomes, which does narrow down the areas to search but also means you’re out of luck if you spawn in a taiga, or mountains, or some other biome far away from those two. Blocklings are tamed using flowers (any flowers, even the newer ones) and once you have them on your side, you can feed them a number of different upgrade items at your leisure to help them grow big and strong. The Blocklings mod adds a special GUI just for your new monster pals, which helps you to monitor their growth, current HP and other important stats.
