Considering the number of games that use magical scrolls for single-use spells, it’s no surprise that the Mystical Scrolls mod for Minecraft would be received so well by players. To put things simply, various scrolls can be made using paper and other materials. These scrolls can then be used to cast specific spells depending on the scroll, and after they are used in this way the scrolls disappear or are presumably destroyed by the casting process. Some of the scrolls aren’t used for magic at all, but rather to manipulate the world around the user in some favorable way.
For instance, while it doesn’t use magical attacks of any kind, the scroll of arrow will instantly fire a fully charged arrow from the caster upon use. That makes it a great weapon for catching people off guard and landing that crucial first hit in a PVP fight. For the most part, scroll effects will look like magic spells right out of any popular gaming franchise. The scroll of return is probably the best utility scroll since it allows the user to set a point and then teleport back to that point at a later time. This binding doesn’t work if you move into an alternate dimension though, so keep that in mind.
There are other useful scrolls too though. Like the scroll of healing, this should be self-explanatory. There’s also the scroll of Nether which makes you resistant to fire, but with fire resistance potions available that can make you immune to fire for 8 minutes in vanilla Minecraft, the usefulness of such a scroll is kind of limited. Other scrolls have been implemented as well, but the recipes for them don’t yet exist, so you can’t craft them in Minecraft. You could always grab them through the console in Creative mode to try them though.
