The New Start is a resource pack that, as the name suggests, has been built to allow players to enjoy Minecraft from a rather different light. The game’s default textures are by no means bad but over time, they become rather repetitive which is where packs like this come into play. The pack has been designed to bring a bit of a refreshing twist to Minecraft’s default look without making any major alterations to the game’s default art style in any way. The pack draws quite a bit of inspiration from the PaperCutOut pack and Isabella ll pack for a lot of its textures.
What the New Start resource pack does is that it essentially smoothens up all the in-game textures. Almost everyone will agree that while the default Minecraft textures aren’t necessarily bad, they tend to look a bit rough and unclean at times but this pack focuses on that exact issue and remedies it. Alongside this, it also tones the colors down a bit which might seem like a downgrade on paper but it actually ends up working out very well because the textures just look so much sleeker with the darker colors applied to them.
The great thing about New Start is that it can be used by pretty much the entirety of the Minecraft player-base. It has a resolution of 16×16 and this low resolution coupled with its top notch itemization make it so that you can play the pack even on low-end PCs. It’s worth mentioning that although the resolution is low, the textures still look fairly sharp, and this is quite impressive as well.
