If you obsess over improving gear and making it stronger, the Reinforced Mod is something that’s going to interest you. There isn’t much to it yet, but the mod was only released in the last month and there are a lot of updates planned for the future. For now, you can make reinforced diamond tools with the mod. Reinforced tools will work better, breaking bricks or chopping trees or digging holes faster while having a longer life with more uses before breaking. It’s not just tools, either. You get a buffed up diamond sword and armor items which offer far more protection than standard diamond gear.
Some of the planned updates for the near future include a reinforced iron golem which would be even stronger and more durable than the already beefy golem, which makes use of a reinforced iron black created with 8 iron ingots and a standard iron block. There’s also a reinforced bow that finally makes ranged damage worthwhile, and even some texture changes to give the improved versions of the standard items a unique look of their own. Most of the new tool recipes will replace sticks with iron ingots during crafting, but the armor looks like it doesn’t need any extra materials to reinforce.
With the Reinforced Mod running alongside Minecraft, you can create items that just last longer and do more for you. This means if you run into some great magic books or enchant some of your own, the enchantments will have a longer life as well, since they’ll be attached to weapons, tools and armor with a longer life built right in. Again, keep in mind that only reinforced diamond tools and gear are implemented with the latest version of the mod. Other items will be introduced later, but this mod is rather barebones for now.
