Like the name suggests, the Throwable Torch mod allows players to hurl their torches over a distance rather than just right clicking to place them within the normal 3-5 block range. It sounds simple enough, but the implications of this mod are pretty deep. For instance, since you can throw your torches, you can hurl them down to the bottoms of dark ravines to see if it’s even worth your time to dig down and explore. This mod is excellent for saving you some time and frustration, and that alone makes it worth a download and trial run. But there’s a little more to it.
There are actually two recipes for making these special torches and both of them are easy enough to get the ingredients to craft. By placing a torch on top of a ball of clay or a slime ball, you’ll get one torch you can toss. The Throwable Torch mod started off with just the single recipe using slime balls, but since those can be troublesome to find for players who don’t live in swamps the clay recipe was added not too long ago – around August 12 of 2015, in fact. Despite the simplicity of this mod, you’ll need to have the most recent version of Minecraft Forge to make it work normally.
That’s really all there is to say about the Throwable Torches mod, though there is one more interesting point worth mentioning. Torches thrown in this manner will actually destroy grass if they land on grassy dirt, just like they normally would if you placed them on a patch of grass by hand. This doesn’t give you the chance of picking up seeds like you would get from busting the grass with a fist or sword, so you might want to do that first if you’re struggling for a food source.

You should add a feature so you can attach a torch to an arrow and shoot it from a bow.
