There are many Minecraft mods that add new items and weapons to the game, but relatively few which actually increase the level of customization you can enjoy with gear you already have. The Bladecraft mod is one of these rare mods which allows you to customize your swords to a greater deal than ever before, starting with color schemes. You can make your sword pretty much whatever color can be displayed in Minecraft without complicating gameplay or changing anything too drastically. This is done through something called alloy gilding, a mechanic unique to this mod.
The thing about these gilded blades is you don’t make them at a crafting table like you normally make almost everything in Minecraft. They must be manufactured using the custom forge block which is also included with the Bladecraft mod, and alloys must first be made in the mixer block, which is another addition. You just place the sword you want to color, the alloy of your choice and then tell the forge what part you want to gild – it takes care of the rest. This mod already does a lot to change Minecraft, so it is one of the many which require Minecraft Forge to work properly.
