The Crystal Wing mod in Minecraft adds a long-desired feature to the game – instant teleports back to your saved home point. Naturally, you can change your save point at any time by sleeping in a bed, so it’s probably more accurate to say this mod takes you back to your bed. If you haven’t saved a spawn point in a particular world yet, the wing will actually take you back to wherever you spawned when you first loaded up. Because that could literally be thousands of blocks away from where your actual home is, it is highly recommended you sleep in a bed before testing out this mod.
Crafting the wings is easy enough. On a table, line up three gold ingots over the top row, then one ender pearl and two feathers in the row immediately under the first. This will produce one wing which can be used up to 8 times before breaking. The Crystal Wing mod is the perfect addition to Minecraft if you want to run a mostly vanilla server and don’t want to worry about the hassle of implementing Bukkit and TPs, save points and more. Think of it like a town portal scroll in Diablo III and you won’t be far off from the truth of it.
