Dynamic Stealth is a mod that’s geared towards the audience of players that wants to implement a stealth element into their play-style but, up until now, hasn’t been unable to because of Minecraft’s overall lack of stealth mechanics. Vanilla Minecraft doesn’t really focus on stealth all that much but Dynamic Stealth is a mod that adds an entirely new stealth system that’s been designed to give players a variety of different mechanics through which they’ll be able to move around the world of Minecraft in a stealthy manner without being detective.

Features and Functionality

At its core, the Dynamic Stealth mod basically implements a bunch of different factors that’ll determine whether or not you can be spotted by any mobs that are around you. The mod checks how far you are from the target in terms of angle and distance, the amount of light in the area, whether or not you’re in sneak mode, whether or not your character is on fire and the mod also checks if your character has any special effects like invisibility or glow. After checking each and every one of these factors, that mod determines whether or not a mob can see and keep track of you. If a mob spots you but you manage to shake it off, it’ll search the last spot you were in for a bit and, if it can’t find you, it’ll go back to what it was doing before spotting you.

Compatibility and Technical Aspects

Dynamic Stealth doesn’t seem to have any technical issues and, as a matter of fact, it actually fixes some bugs like mobs being able to attack players through diagonal walls so it’ll actually make the game smoother and more engaging as long as it’s used with a version of Minecraft that it’s compatible with which, in this case, happens to be 1.12.
