Enhanced Spawners 2 Mod for Minecraft 1.8

The Enhanced Spawners 2 mod probably doesn’t do what you think it does, at first look. Sure, it enhances spawners, but not in the way you think. By adding a blaze rod to a spawner, whether naturally occurring or placed by the player, any mobs which spawn from said spawner will drop smelted versions of their goods upon death. This means slain cows will drop steaks instead of raw beef, pigs will drop pork chops instead of raw pork, and so on. Spawners can be created with the new Nether Rod, made by combining a nether star with two sticks, as if crafting a shovel.

This rod can trap any mob you run into as long as you wait until it is at half health or less. Using the rod when the target has too much life does nothing, but it will reduce durability, so be very careful with this item. You only get one use, and you only get one nether star per generated world since you only get one nether dragon per world, so you absolutely must be careful with this step. Once you’ve trapped your mob of choice, though, you can place your spawner wherever you like, or break it down and move it elsewhere if you don’t like where you put it the first time.

Besides the cooked drops which you get when adding a blaze rod, there are a number of other ways to enhance your spawner with the Enhanced Spawners 2 mod. Adding lapis blocks will make the spawner drop more mobs per spawn, up to 5 mobs per spawn if you add 4 lapis blocks. A single emerald block will keep the spawner working even when you move out of range. Redstone blocks can level up the spawner to new mob types too.
