With the advent of the achievement in video gaming, players everywhere had a new thing to do with their favorite video games, which is to rack up achievements to show off how good they are at a game, or how long they’ve been playing a game. Minecraft has achievements too, but they are pretty easy to get – most players can literally get them all within just a few hours of starting a new world. The Extra Achievements mod by dude22072 expands on the standard achievements by giving players many more tasks to complete in Minecraft, like smelting gold, creating glass blocks and cooking up various types of meat.
While the majority of these are also relatively simple and easy to get, they do add a certain level of additional depth to Minecraft, so in that sense they are just as good as the standard achievements, being that both groups accomplish the same goal. Granted, making a suit of armor doesn’t really seem like it should give 4 different achievements to some players, but that’s the beauty of mods; if you don’t like them, you don’t have to install them. For the many players who would like a bunch of new things to do, the Extra Achievements mod adds a lot of content to Minecraft without changing the game at all.
