The Floating Ruins mod adds several different styles of mostly abandoned ruins floating high up in the sky. If you’ve ever played Terraria before, then you know about floating ruins, or floating islands to be more specific. Just like in Terraria, the floating islands created by this mod in Minecraft will come with structures, possible treasures, and usually a few nasty enemies standing between you and the goods. The shape of the ruins spawned, the building blocks used for the ruins, treasures and mob spawner types are all based on whatever biome a ruin spawns within.
This mod is a little different from other ruins mods, because the structures created by the Floating Ruins mod don’t exactly look like ruins. In fact, they are usually cubic or like giant squares or rectangles – think of a section of an underwater palace and you won’t be far off from the way things look with this mod. Also, every ruin is guaranteed to have at least one spawner and at least one chest, so any time you manage to find one, you know there’s something good waiting inside for you. Ruins spawn randomly; they may be few and far between or you may find three or four islands in close proximity to one another.
