Many mods seek to improve Minecraft in some simple way – adding more food items, giving players new tools, or including weapons and armor with special effects which can’t normally be found in the vanilla game. Then you have the Improving Minecraft mod, which does so many different things to improve Minecraft that the name really is an apt moniker. The purpose was to improve many little things and fix up strange inconsistencies which appear throughout Minecraft, and this mod succeeds in meeting that purpose, as you’ll see if you keep reading about it.
Many aspects of Minecraft are covered by the Improving Minecraft mod and changed for the better. Farming and breeding, enchanting, repairing, brewing, mobs and their drops all get updates thanks to this mod. There are so many changes that a list of them all would take up too much space here, but you can easily look that up through the Improving Minecraft website, or on one of the various mod websites where Improving Minecraft has already been posted. A very cool aspect of the mod though is that it forces you to domesticate animals over time rather than just rounding up everything you see.
Animals in the wild will turn hostile when you attack them, and some, like the sheep, might even go off on you if you don’t actually harm them at all. Shearing wild sheep will give a 1/3 chance you get a nice headbutt in the chest and end up having to kill the fluffy critter. There are lots of little changes like this which add a lot of depth to Minecraft and make the game into something which is different from normal, yet still a lot of fun for people to play. If you want a more serious and realistic Minecraft, try the Improving Minecraft mod today.
Note: A list of all improvements can find on the official thread.
