Progressive Bosses is a mod for players who aren’t particularly content with the current difficulty of boss fights in Minecraft and want to make things a bit more challenging for themselves. As it stands right now, Wither and Ender Dragon start off as pretty intimidating foes but, once you’ve beaten them a few times, they don’t seem all that challenging anymore because players have usually memorized how to play against them and, due to this, the difficulty goes down quite a bit. Fortunately, though, the Progressive Bosses mod allows these particular bosses to retain their difficulty, and it does so in a creative way.
The Progressive Bosses mod basically increases the stats of the Wither and Ender Dragon whenever they’re killed. Every single time you kill one of these bosses, they’ll become a bit more difficult to kill the next time they spawn. Thanks to the ever-increasing difficulty of these two bosses, the Progressive Bosses brings back the thrill of fighting both the Wither and the Ender Dragon since you can’t hope to simply steamroll through them over and over again once you’ve figured out how to fight them. It goes without saying that this probably isn’t a mod that you should be trying out if you already have trouble beating these bosses but, if you’re an experienced veteran and want your skills tested, this mod is the way to go.
Another crucial thing worth remember about the Progressive Bosses mod is the fact that, at the very beginning, it’ll set the difficulty values of the bosses to a value of -1 which means that they’ll actually be a slight bit easier to slay than they normally are when you fight them for the first time after using this mod. However, after this, the difficulty will keep going up as you’d expect it to and every single time you beat these bosses, their difficulty will increase.
