Archimedes’ Ships Mod for Minecraft 1.7.10

Traveling over the water in Minecraft is a fairly basic chore. Players can opt to either swim through the water slowly, or use a boat to traverse the same amount of distance in a much shorter amount of time. However, boats are pretty simple creations; they have no weapons or means of defense and they are very prone to exploding into wood blocks and sticks, even when landed carefully by the player. The Archimedes’ Ships mod adds new and different types of seafaring vessels to the game. Many of these ships are bigger, more aggressive constructs which also stand up to damage better than standard boats.

Archimedes’ Ships mod will only work properly if players already have Minecraft Forge installed, so be sure to find that mod loader first and set it up before downloading this mod. Unlike boats which can be made exclusively at any crafting table available, the new ships require the player to craft several different blocks, then place them in proximity to one another, kind of like how iron and snow golems are made. Getting the specific recipes and placement procedures for making ships will require the player to check out the mod website, though there may be a note included with the mod download.

The new ships aren’t just for traveling over the water, either. With the addition of enough air balloon blocks, players can make their ships take to the skies as well, sailing them over the world at a safe height and well above monsters. Players will need to come up with dozens of those air balloon blocks to make this happen though, so it’s not an easy task at all. Ships can even be named by the player, which is a nice little touch. Players will need to use many more keys than normal to move around, increase and decrease their elevation, and land the ships.
